Join the course anytime, even if it has started

You can join us at any stage of the course and don't have to be registered before the first module starts. You can simply learn modules not covered during live delivery in your own time if you miss a sesssion.

9 x Optional 1 Hour Modules Live Online (13 in total available in the course)

We will be running a series of different optional modules each week over the course of 9 weeks. You can opt to attend 1 or all of these live sessions and complete the self directed modules anytime.

Who should do this course?

This delivery mode is for those who can get online via Zoom and want to learn with others face to face with a real Kaiarahi (Digital Coach).

You either prefer learning in a group setting, or don't have the confidence to undertake self directed study through our eLearning Stream.

Kanorau Essentials Live Online Stream Course Content

The Kanorau Essentials Live Online stream has our full suite of content. However, the public course only covers 9 topics in the live sessions, and the rest can be completed in your own time. You can always join a support session if you get stuck with any of the topics including the self-directed modules.   

1. Introduction to Google
An Introduction to the suite of Google tools and how to access them including Google Calendar.

2. Online Shopping & Safety
Topics covering Secure websites, shopping, TradeMe, PriceSpy.

3. Managing Money
Topics covering Google Sheets/budgets, online banking.

4. Avoid Getting Scammed
Topics covering scams, passwords and online safety.

5. Presentations & Photos
Topics covering Google slides, Google Images, and Google photos.

6 Get More Out Of Google!
Topics covering Google drive folders, sharing and permissions, Slides for presentations.

7. Digital Communication
Topics covering communication tools like Google Meet, Zoom, plus overview of other video communication tools.

8. Digital Job Seeking
Topics related to job seeking and employment.

9. Online Services
Topics covering government and other essential services online.

Prerequisites

What you need to join us online live:

  1. A Laptop or PC to complete exercises.
  2. Preferably stable broadband internet for video
  3. Zoom Installed onto your device
  4. Gmail or Google Account to use the Google Apps
